Get Involved

The importance of having a safe, secure place to call home is universal. For more than 40 years, Way Finders (formerly HAPHousing) has helped find a way home for tens of thousands of families. Our work has focused on ending homelessness, meeting the need for safe, affordable housing, and putting people on pathways to home ownership. But there is more work to do. Needs are greater; so too is our vision.

Through strategic partnerships and community collaborations, our sights are set on building healthy, sustainable communities. People in all income brackets, in every zip code deserve to live in communities like these. This is work that requires many hands, many supporters. We invite you to join the growing numbers of contributors who are placing building healthy communities as their giving priority.

Community Investment Tax Credits (CITC)

Invest In Community. Invest in Way Finders. Through a competitive funding program, the Massachusetts Department of Housing and Community Development has allocated Community Investment Tax Credits (CITC) to Way Finders to be used to match donations of $1,000 or more from local residents and businesses. Full details can be found at the Community Development section of the department’s website: www.mass.gov/hed

  • The tax credit is equal to 50% of a donation of $1,000 or more made by a corporation, an individual or a nonprofit institution.
  • If you do not owe state income tax, the tax credit will be paid to you directly; it is “refundable.”
  • Donors are also eligible for a federal charitable tax deduction for their donation.
  • Eligible donations made during the 2017 calendar year will result in a certificate of tax credits to be redeemed on your 2017 tax returns.
